Bangalore Traffic Solution-CyBaNa, An initiative by KGP alumni

Bangalore traffic snarls needs no introduction. Many of us have resigned ourselves to live with this mess. However, all is not lost. We have among us some role models who have taken it upon themselves to find innovative and practical ways to alleviate this situation.

Technology Alumni Association is pleased to introduce GV Dasarathi, an 84 batch KGP Alumnus, CEO of a software firm Cadem, who with his CyBaNa initiative is making the difference one "cycle" at a time, for a better tomorrow. Let us join him in understanding how we the citizens of Bangalore can kill the Giant, Traffic.

Indiscriminate widening of roads, thoughtless construction of flyovers, underpasses and other short term measures are not only insufficient but also are detrimental to the environment next to us. There is no hope/track record that the authorities will do anything to solve this issue in a sensible manner. Old timers among us can relate to how much Bangalore changed in the last few years, for worse.

Are the authorities solely to blame for the current traffic mess in Bangalore? Do We, the citizens, have no role to play? Are we going to keep ranting or do something about it?

Can We, You and I do something about this?

"Yes! We Can, You! Can, I! Can"
Come join us to hear GV Dasarathi(84') on how he started CyBaNa[Cycle, Bus, Nadiodu(walk)] and doing his part for our better tomorrow. Let us listen to how he, the CEO of a software firm manages this day in and day out. Use this opportunity to shutdown all excuses and start on a healthy, wealthy and wise path.

Our last meet on 10th April 2010 received a great response. How do you balance money making and charitable cause? A practical approach to this question is what Sudhakara Murthy's speech can be sumarized as. He has an open letter addressed to us, do have a look at it and feel free to contact him.

IIT Dean Alumni affairs Prof Patra alongwith a passionate alumnus NRI who has studied how several academic institutions in western world built a sustainable infrastructure development model to make them the topmost universities globally by leveraging their alumni and engaing them as partners are visiting Bangalore to meet KGPains. Dean observed that Bangalore chapter was the best ever meet in terms of discussion intensity and ideas generated

IIT KGP Diro had observed in Enterprise Event at KSCA during Nov 2007 that alumni can give it back in many ways more than just money) in terms of their expertise / knowledge, time / effort, contacts / network and help in developing a sustainable allround development infrastructure for our alma mater. It is planned to have an alumni meet on 13th Dec (venue to be confirmed) where passionate and leading alumni can offer ways and means to achieve this alongwith Prof Patra and Chinnu alumnus from US.
