April 19, 2011 in Events, Guest Speaker, TAA TALK

Ashish Mohan Khokar
History & Evolution of Indian Classical Dances
(with live demonstrations)

Dear Alumnus,

We have given the TAA-TALK a new look, not just by creating a vibrant, new logo, but also making it broader in appeal. We will be inviting eminent speakers from diverse fields covering Technology, Management, Entrepreneurship, History, Social Welfare and Culture to speak on subjects that will interest members of TAA and their families. The speakers we have short listed are all authorities in their field and are known as great presenters.

I would like to invite you to the year’s first session of TAA-TALK at 7.00pm on 30th April ’11 (Saturday) at the Indiranagar Club. Shri Ashish Mohan Khokar, the eminent dance critic and presenter will speak on “The History and Evolution of Indian Classical dances: Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Odissi“, accompanied by demonstration performances.

Our first speaker of the year, Shri Ashish Mohan Khokar is a St Stephanian, a former dance critic of Times of India, founder-publisher of the dance magazine ‘Attendance’ and writer of many treasured volumes on Indian dance. Dance DISCourse, his monthly presentation on dance, accompanied by video at Alliance Francaise draws houseful audiences. He is among he most articulate, knowledgeable and audience-friendly speakers on dance. The artistes demonstrating the finer points of the three dance forms are three young and very talented dancers, Shri Sathyanarayan Raju (Bharatnatyam), Shri K Murali Mohan (Kathak) and Smt Madhulita Mohapatra (Odissi).

So if you want to be better informed about the Indian dance forms, or want to appreciate dance better, or just want to watch some great short performances, this is an opportunity you cannot miss. There is of course as usual the dinner and the networking to follow. All in all, a great evening to look forward to.

See you all there with your friends and families.

Bangalore Traffic Solution-CyBaNa, An initiative by KGP alumni

Bangalore traffic snarls needs no introduction. Many of us have resigned ourselves to live with this mess. However, all is not lost. We have among us some role models who have taken it upon themselves to find innovative and practical ways to alleviate this situation.

Technology Alumni Association is pleased to introduce GV Dasarathi, an 84 batch KGP Alumnus, CEO of a software firm Cadem, who with his CyBaNa initiative is making the difference one “cycle” at a time, for a better tomorrow. Let us join him in understanding how we the citizens of Bangalore can kill the Giant, Traffic.

Can We, You and I do something about this?

“Yes! We Can, You! Can, I! Can”
Come join us to hear GV Dasarathi(84′) on how he started CyBaNa[Cycle, Bus, Nadiodu(walk)] and doing his part for our better tomorrow. Let us listen to how he, the CEO of a software firm manages this day in and day out. Use this opportunity to shutdown all excuses and start on a healthy, wealthy and wise path.
