Career Management Aligned to Organizational Goals and Personal Fulfillment

October 7, 2011 in Panel Discussion, TAA TALK

After the roaring success of TAA-TALK on 30th April’11 with noted dance critique, Shri Ashish Mohan Khokar, we at TAA set out to organize something even bigger and better. We wanted to do something that promised to be of utmost importance to the whole alumni community, from a fresh entrant to a person at the top rung of an organization. On 23rd July’11, we organized a panel discussion on Career Management Aligned to Organizational Goals and Personal Fulfillment at Hotel Royal Orchid.

PanelistsThe discussion featured following distinguished panelists:

  • Ms Hema Ravichander : HR Consultant  &  Former Head of HR at Infosys
  • Mr. Peeyush Ranjan, Managing Director, Google India R&D
  • Dr. Pradip K Dutta, Corporate Vice President and Managing Director, Synopsys
  • Mr. Kamal Sagar, Managing Director, Total Environment Building Systems Pvt. Ltd.

Our panelists were judiciously chosen to maintain appropriate diversity. Mr. Sagar who is an entrepreneur talked about challenges he faced in managing his employees’ career while Mr. Ranjan and Mr. Dutta, who grew within the organization, talked about how they balanced their personal ambitions with the company expectations at different times in their career. Ms. Ravichander who has a background in HR was the perfect moderator for this panel discussion. She even shared some anecdotes from her career as a HR professional.

PanelistsThe questions that followed from audiences highlight the interest the panel discussion aroused in them. The audiences were so lost in the discussion that we had to delay dinner by 15 minutes. Now how often does that happen?

In true KGPian spirit, before starting the talk, we paid tribute to the beloved Prof. G. S. Sanyal by showing a video about his life. Prof. Sanyal who unfortunately passed away on 7th July’11 had dedicated his entire life to the institute.

AudienceWith over 200 alumni who graced the occasion with their presence, the panel discussion was the biggest TAA-TALK of the year so far. We had great fun organizing this event and the response from the audience has motivated us to keep raising the bar. We want to thank our alumni and sponsors for their support and promise to keep bringing you such high quality events in future.
